The International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry is a global organization with members of diverse nationalities. The I.F.E.D. World Congress was held in Washington, D.C. on October 3-5, 2002. A worldwide assembly of doctors were present to exchange current advances in esthetic dentistry.

Honored for the role he has played in world dentistry as both a leader and educator, Dr. Chal receives his award from Philippe Gallon, DDS, I.F.E.D. Co-President.
Dr. Chal was one of sixty doctors honored for the role he has played in world dentistry as both a leader and educator. The award ceremony was held at the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute on October 4, 2002.

American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

In 1992, Dr. Chal became an Accredited Member of the American
Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Only six doctors in
Arizona have passed this examination in the academy
of over 8,000 members worldwide.
In 1994, Dr. Chal was selected to sit as an Examiner for the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry, the credentialing body of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Forty doctors from across the country are asked to be members of this Examining Board that tests doctors applying for credentials in cosmetic dentistry. In addition, Dr. Chal is one of only seven doctors in North America who is an A.B.O.E. Appeals Examiner. This board sets the reference standard in cosmetic dentistry.
In 1995, Dr. Chal was elected an A.A.C.D. Director.
Dr. Chal continued in service to become president (2001-2002) of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

AACD Presidential Citation
Five doctors were honored at the 20th Anniversary Meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, April 27th through May 1st, 2004. AACD President, Dr. Mike Malone, pictured here on the right, presented Dr. Chal a Presidential Citation, recognizing his significant contributions to leadership and education in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.

"AACD Legends" Recognition
Dr. Art Chal was honored as part of a group who have helped shape the course of cosmetic dentistry in the world. The program was entitled "AACD Legends" and it took place at the 2007 AACD Annual Meeting in Atlanta. Dr. Jack Kammer, the founder of the AACD, was also in the group that was recognized. Here Dr. Chal is pictured with Dr. Kammer. Dr. Kammer personally thanked Dr. Chal afterward for his many years of contributions to cosmetic dentistry. |

Examining Board Honors Dr. Chal
At the April 2010 annual meeting of the AACD in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Chal was honored for his service as an accreditation examiner. With a tenure of 16 years, Dr. Chal is the longest serving examiner of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. At the ceremony honoring Dr. Chal, the current accreditation chairman expressed "great admiration and appreciation" for Dr. Chal's "immeasureable" contributions.

Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists

In 1996, Dr. Chal received Fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (i.e., F.I.C.O.I.).
When Dr. Chal passed this examination, he became one of only 17 doctors
in Arizona to hold this credential. The congress is an implant
dentistry educational organization with over 35,000
international members as of 2006.
Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry

In 1981, Dr. Chal received Fellowship status in the Academy of General
Dentistry (i.e., F.A.G.D.). At that time, he was the youngest
doctor in Arizona to receive this credential. As of 2006, only
44 doctors in Arizona have passed the A.G.D. fellowship
examination and hold the highly respected title of
Fellow. In
1987, Dr. Chal was elected President of the Arizona
Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Chal is the only dentist in Arizona to simultaneously hold advanced credentials in general dentistry (i.e., F.A.G.D.), cosmetic dentistry (i.e., Accredited A.A.C.D.), and implant dentistry (i.e., F.I.C.O.I.).
