Dr. Chal's Continuing Education
Dr. Chal attends an extraordinary number of continuing education courses to
keep abreast of all the latest developments in dentistry and to continue
refining his skills. He takes over 100 hours of courses each year,
which, if he were to do that in one stretch, would amount to about a month
out of the year, every year. For comparison, most state dental boards
require 15 to 20 hours of continuing education courses per year. Here is a
listing of what he has done recently:
December 2011
Dr. Chal attended a one-day program sponsored by the Arizona State Dental Association on risk management. Two attorneys, Richard Monahan, from Chicago and Susan McLellan, from Phoenix, presented the seminar. The program focused on issues of the dental standard of care and malpractice.
November 2011
Dr. Chal spent four days in Madison, Wisconsin, as an examiner of the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry (ABCD). This board tests doctors seeking credentials in cosmetic dentistry.
June 2011
Dr. Chal attended the 23rd International Symposium on Dental Ceramics in San Diego, California. This four-day meeting was attended by over 1000 dentists from around the world, many of them leaders in their fields. It presented the very latest advances for the fabrication of dental veneers, crowns, bridges, and implant restorations. His master dental ceramist for the past 30 years, Rick Durkee, CDT, AAACD, also attended the program with Dr. Chal.
May 2011
Dr. Chal attended a one-day program presented by Clinical Research Associates of Provo, Utah. This Clinicians Report Update focused on current advances in dental materials.
April 2011
Dr. Chal attended a one-day program presented by DNA Health Pro of Chicago, Illinois, the underwriters of the Professional Protector Plan® for dentists. The presentation focused on the issues of dental standard of care, malpractice, and risk management.
March 2011
Dr. Chal attended the three-day Western Regional Dental Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended lectures and evaluated products on the exhibit floor.
February 2011
Dr. Chal attended the International Congress of Oral Implantologists 2011 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. This three-day program was titled "Innovations to Esthetics." Dr. Chal participated in a hands-on training workshop and lecture presentations. Scientists, academics, and clinicians from seventy countries were involved.
January 2011
Dr. Chal attended a one-day program sponsored by Nobel Biocare. The program was titled "Treatment Solutions Using the All-on-4 Dental Implant Concept."
